The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has officially moved into the Speaker’s office at the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex. Speaker Obasa was accompanied into her new office by members of the State assembly. A prayer session was held on her behalf, as well as other members of the House for smooth leadership of the assembly and collaboration among the Honourable members of the House. Today’s plenary has been adjourned to a later date by the leadership of the house Rt Hon speaker Mojisola Meranda.

The Nigerian Presidency has responded to the recently approved 50% tariff increase for telecommunications operators, noting that the decision is necessary for ensuring the long-term viability of the sector.  The adjustment, authorised by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), comes after over a decade of unchanged pricing in the industry, despite high inflation impacting the costs of operations. US President Donald Trump has said he wants Egypt and Jordan to take in Palestinians from Gaza. Trump said he had made the request to Jordan’s King Abdullah and planned to ask Egypt’s president on Sunday, too. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a temporary suspension of access gate fees at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. In a statement released on Saturday, FAAN said the decision aims to ease traffic congestion for airport road users during ongoing construction work.
