The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Heritage Energy Operational Services (HEOS), and DBN Energies on Wednesday in Port Harcourt graduated 14 young engineers and geologists under the Nigerian Content Human Capital Development (NC-HCD) Training prpgramme in respect of the companies’ installation and commissioning of Ariel Gas Lift Compressor Unit.

Competencies covered under the 12-month programme include engineering design, procurement and supply, chain management, project planning, safety engineering, contract management, mechanical maintenance, crane operations, occupational health and safety, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), entrepreneurship, and Nigerian Content compliance.

In a keynote address at the event, the General Manager, HCD, of the NCDMB, Ms. Alexis Emelle, described the areas of focus in the training prgogramme as valuable competencies much required in oil and gas operations and several other productive sectors, pointing out that the structured on-the-job training has equipped the graduands with practical industry experience, problem-solving skills and sound technical background.

She said the training reflected the NCDMB’s “unwavering commitment to developing indigenous capacity” under its Nigerian Content 10-Year Strategic Road Map, while commending HEOS “for fulfilling its Human Capacity Development obligations” and DBN Energies “for delivering a high-quality training programme.”

She assured the graduands that the oil and gas industry would value them not only for the certificates they have earned but for their competence, integrity, professionalism, and the value they create. To the Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN) and other industry stakeholders, the HCD General Manager expressed appreciation for their collaboration that made the training programme a success.

In his own remarks, a representative of DBN Energies, Mr. Matthew Eseragbo, commended the outgoing trainees for dedication to the training, noting that the quality of the knowledge acquired was evident from their presentations on project review, which he described as outstanding.

In a vote of thanks, a representative of the graduands, Mr. Douglas Obamata, said they were very grateful for the rare opportunity they had to undergo the year-long training programme. “We’ll use all the skills we have learnt to make a difference in our world,” he stated.

He thanked he NCDMB, HEOS, DBN Energies, and Dexterious Applied Training Institute, the trainers, for the quality knowledge imparted to them and other benefits of the programme
