CAF Announces Increased Prize Money For Women’s Champions League, Unveils New Logo

The eight clubs participating in the CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco, will benefit from a significant boost in prize money, with each team guaranteed at least USD 150,000.

The CAF Women’s Champions League launched in 2021, has seen its prize pool increase by 52% this year to USD 2,350,000.

The prize distribution is as follows:

Winner: USD 600,000
Runner-up: USD 400,000
3rd place: USD 350,000
4th place: USD 300,000
3rd in Group: USD 200,000 each
4th in Group: USD 150,000 each

CAF’s commitment to growing women’s football is also reflected in their focus on youth academies and increasing prize money to ensure the sport remains globally competitive.

The tournament, set to begin on November 9 in Morocco, will showcase a newly designed logo symbolizing excellence of African women’s clubs.

The logo incorporates purple, orange, and pink, highlighting royalty, innovation, and youthful vibrancy.

The eight competing teams are:

Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa, holders)
ASFAR (Morocco, host)
Aigles de la Medina (Senegal, WAFU A)
EDO Queens (Nigeria, WAFU B)
University of the Western Cape (South Africa, COSAFA)
FC Masar (Egypt, UNAF)
CBE FC (Ethiopia, CECAFA)
TP Mazembe (DR Congo, UNIFFAC)
