The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed November 8th, 2025 for the Anambra governorship poll.  INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu said this in Abuja on Thursday at the commission’s meeting with political parties. “As you are aware, the last governorship election in Anambra State was held on 6th November 2021,” Mahmood said. “By the effluxion of time, the governorship election is due next year. Kenyan senators have voted to remove Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from office despite his failure to testify at his impeachment trial after his lawyer said he had been taken to hospital. The Rivers State House of Assembly led by Victor Oko-Jumbo on Tuesday restated its resolve that the legislative seats of Martin Amaewhule and 24 others remain vacant following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on December 11, 2023. Justice M.O Dawodu of an Ikeja high court has issued an interim order restraining social critic, Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, from further circulating or publishing any defamatory video or comments against legal expert, Femi Falana.
