Nigeria submitted a request to join the Bank in April 2024 and the Board of Governors approved its membership in May of the same year. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, for alleged N700 billion Fraud.
