On Friday, Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, alongside Nasir El-Rufa’i, former Governor of Kaduna State, and Aminu Tambuwal, former Governor of Sokoto State and current Senator, paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Kaduna.

Also accompanying the delegation were Achike Udenwa, former Governor of Imo State, Gabriel Suswam, former Governor of Benue State, Jubirila Bindow, former Governor of Adamawa State, and Isa Pantami, former Minister of Communications.

Despite their political affiliations with El-Rufa’i now a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Atiku, Tambuwal, Udenwa, Suswam, Bindow, and Pantami being members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  the group gathered together for the visit.

The group also observed Friday Jummat prayers in Kaduna, reinforcing the unity of purpose behind their visit.

In a post on his X handle (formerly Twitter), Atiku expressed his enjoyment of the time spent with Buhari, describing it as a “wonderful time”. Atiku wrote:

“As the Waziri Adamawa, I was obligated to be in Adamawa during the Sallah celebrations. I held forth for the Lamido Fombina in some of the activities of the Sallah celebrations. Today, I had the opportunity to pay a post-Sallah visit to His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2015-2023. It was a wonderful time with him. As usual, he cracked me up (to the extent that my ribs were hurting with his peculiar humour).”

However, Atiku refrained from revealing further details about the discussions during the visit
