President Bola Tinubu has held a private meeting with the President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, in Paris, France, where both leaders discussed global affairs and issues affecting Africa.
The closed-door lunch marks the first public appearance of President Tinubu since he departed Nigeria on December 28, for Europe on an end-of-year break and ahead of an official engagement in the Middle East.
President Tinubu had left Lagos on Sunday, December 28, to continue his end-of-year break before proceeding on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
A statement earlier issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated that, “The President was invited by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, to participate in the 2026 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026).”
The summit, scheduled to hold in early January in Abu Dhabi, is a week-long annual gathering that convenes leaders from government, business, and civil society to shape the future of sustainable development.
With the theme: “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” the 2026 edition of ADSW is expected to connect ambition with action across innovation, finance, and people, while showcasing pathways for global progress and resilience.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the end of the summit
