Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria has denied any links to militant groups in the state, warning against fake social media posts.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Chukwudi Nelson, it said “For the avoidance of doubt, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has no link to any militant group…He would pay any price to secure and sustain peace in the State.”
The governor warned purveyors of violence and economic sabotage to steer clear of the state and cautioned bloggers and social media influencers to stop spreading fake reports.
Security agencies have been urged to take note of these fake videos and take necessary steps to contain them and bring those responsible to book.
