Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, on Tuesday, visited Bin-Per community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State to commiserate with residents following the recent attack that claimed more than 26 lives.

Obi, who was accompanied by members of his team, visited the community to sympathise with families who lost loved ones and identify with residents still grappling with the impact of the devastating incident.

Addressing residents during the visit, Obi urged the people to remain strong and united, while calling on governments at all levels to take decisive action to protect lives and property.“The most important responsibility of government is to protect the lives and property of its citizens. We must do everything possible to ensure that our people can live and work without fear,” Obi said

He expressed concern over the security challenges confronting communities in Plateau State and called for stronger measures to prevent further attacks and restore confidence among residents.

According to him, affected communities should not be left to bear the burden of such tragedies alone, insisting that government must provide the necessary support to help victims rebuild their lives and livelihoods.

Some of the affected residents who spoke during the visit thanked Obi for identifying with them at a difficult moment and for coming to share in their grief.

They prayed for God’s continued blessings and protection for the NDC presidential candidate, while expressing hope that his visit would draw greater national attention to the security challenges confronting the community.

The community also appealed to relevant authorities to strengthen security around vulnerable communities and create conditions that would enable residents to return safely to their homes and farms without fear
