Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and Green Energy International Limited on Monday graduated 20 trainees in critical engineering competencies as part of a 12-month capacity building initiative for oil and gas industry operations.

At a close-out ceremony at the NCDMB Training Centre in Yenagoa, trainees received international certification in their different areas of specialisation. For Piping Engineering, trainees received Autodesk Inventor Certificate, while others in Project Management and Engineering received America’s PMI (Project Management Institute) Certificate, the most widely recognised certification in the world.

Trainees in Electrical Engineering had City and Guilds Certificate, while others in Safety Engineering received NEBOSH IGN (International General Certificate). Everyone on the programme was awarded the United Kingdom’s NEBOSH National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health Certificate.

Speaking at the event, the General Manager, Midstream Monitoring and Evaluation, of the NCDMB, Ms. Tassala Tersugh, expressed satisfaction with the rigour and thoroughness of the training programme, and commended the sponsors, Green Energy International, and trainers, Dexterous Applied Training Institute, for their efforts.

She said the graduating trainees, who completed their 12-month programme in April 2025, have acquired critically important industry skills which they could employ at the workplace and in other areas of productive activity.

Ms. Tersugh advised all participants in the programme to update their records on the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Content (NOGIC) Joint Qualification System (JQS) platform for easy identification and shortlisting wherever vacancies become available in the oil and gas industry.

In her own remarks, Mrs. Opeyemi Fagbola, the Legal Counsel at Green Energy International who represented the company, commended the trainees for their dedication throughout the training programme and for very good performance. She expressed the company’s confidence that they would be able to apply skills acquired in their diverse areas of endeavour.

In closing remarks, the Government Relations Manager (Local Content), of Green Energy International, Mrs. Fatimatah Amate, thanked the trainees for their active participation in the programme and Dexterous Applied Training Institute for excellent services. She assured the trainers that Green Energy would continue to patronise the company for future trainings.

She said the Nigerian Content Non-Compliance Remediation (NCNC REM) programme was part of ongoing efforts to build capacity, and thanked the NCDMB for unwavering support and guidance in the oil and gas industry. According to her, the goals of her company are perfectly aligned with those of the Board.

Green Energy International is an indigenous player in the oil and gas sector, largely focused on creating “localized domestic markets based on small-scale gas opportunities” in local host communities, Nigeria and Africa at large.
