The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with Chevron Nigeria Limited and Geoscape Nigeria Limited on Wednesday held a close-out ceremony to mark the successful completion of a one-year Human Capital Development (HCD) training programme on Composite Repairs, Leak Sealing, Machining & Bolting, Managing & Working Safely and Entrepreneurship/Business Management Skill & Clarity 4D.

The programme was part of the Board’s mandate to enhance in-country human capacity in the oil and gas industry.

Speaking at the ceremony which held in Lagos, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE, represented by the General Manager, Human Capacity Development, Barr. Esueme Dan Kikile congratulated the eleven graduates drawn from the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualification System (NOGIC JQS). He noted that the programme, anchored on the Board’s Project-Based Human Capital Development framework, is a strong testament to its commitment to technical capacity development as enshrined in the 10-Year Strategic Roadmap.

Kikile commended Chevron Nigeria Limited for its unwavering support in developing local talent and applauded Geoscape Nigeria Limited for its professionalism and high delivery standards. He emphasised that the event was not merely the end of a training cycle, but a celebration of a strong public-private partnership dedicated to nation-building.

In his remarks, Victor Inyere, a representative of Chevron Nigeria Limited, congratulated the trainees, stakeholders, and partners. He highlighted Chevron’s long-term belief in people and in the NCDMB’s mandate. He stressed that the programme represents a valuable social investment. “This is not just training; it is a step toward building a stronger industry,” he noted.

In her speech, the managing Director, Geoscape Nigeria Limited, Modupeola Jegede appreciated Chevron and NCDMB for their continuous support and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to upholding international standards in all its training interventions.

She applauded the trainees for completing the rigorous programme and expressed hope that they would find meaningful opportunities to apply their new skills.

The trainee representatives expressed gratitude on behalf of the graduating cohort. She commended the care shown throughout their stay, noting that her participation as the only female trainee shows that there are no limits for women in the oil and gas sector. “We’ve learned so much and are eager to contribute meaningfully to the industry,” she said.

The ceremony reaffirms NCDMB’s commitment to fostering sustainable local capacity and expanding opportunities for Nigerians across the oil and gas value chain
