The Kano State Government has relaxed the 24-hour curfew imposed on the state from 8am to 2pm, effective Sunday.

The announcement was made by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Baba Haliru Danteye, in a special broadcast to the people of the state.

He said, Governor Abba Yusuf expressed sympathy for the families who lost loved ones and property during the violent protests, which were hijacked by hoodlums.

However, he urged residents to return home by 2pm, as the curfew will be reviewed as the security situation improves.

The Governor also called on residents to continue praying for peace, progress, and political stability in the state and the nation at large.

Dantiye added that the relaxation of the curfew was a step towards restoring normalcy in the state, and the government will continue to monitor the situation to ensure public safety
