The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent governor and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The declaration was made on Sunday morning by the INEC Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, following the collation of results from the 30 local government areas of the state.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.
Declaring the result, Professor Ogunwole said Adeleke had satisfied all legal requirements and was therefore returned elected.
He stated: “That, Ademola Adeleke of Accord Party, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared winner and is returned elected, duly signed by me.”
According to the official results announced by INEC, Adeleke won 19 of the 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji secured victory in 11 LGAs.
Adeleke recorded notable victories in Ayedaade, Ayedire, Boluwaduro, Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Ejigbo, Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, Ifedayo, Ifelodun, Ila, Ilesa West, Iwo, Odo-Otin, Oriade, Orolu and Osogbo local government areas.
Oyebamiji, on the other hand, won Atakumosa East, Atakumosa West, Boripe, Ife South, Ilesa East, Irepodun, Irewole, Isokan, Obokun, Ola-Oluwa and Olorunda LGAs.
The declaration brings to an end the collation of results from the 30 local government areas and formally establishes Adeleke as the winner of the 2026 Osun governorship election
