Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna has granted bail to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over alleged corruption charges.

However, the court ordered that he remains in custody pending the perfection of the bail conditions.

Justice Rilwanu Aikawa granted El-Rufai bail in the sum of N200 million with two sureties in like sum, describing the conditions as strict and extensive.

The court ruled that the one-time FCT Minister must remain in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC until all conditions are met.

As part of the conditions, one surety must be a civil servant not below Grade Level 15, while the other must be a recognised traditional ruler, with both required to deposit their passports with the court.

He is also barred from making public comments on the case and must attend all court sittings.

Meanwhile, at the Kaduna State High Court, has adjourned ruling on a separate bail application till April 21 following the inability of the presiding judge to deliver the decision.

The development comes amid ongoing legal proceedings involving the former governor in both federal and state courts, highlighting the complexity of the charges against him.
