Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest-paid player in football history as he is set to sign a whopping £3M-A-WEEK contract extension at Al-Nassr’

The Portuguese superstar, who will turn 40 on February 5, is set to extend his contract with the Saudi team until 2026, as his current deal expires this summer.

Completely removed from the highest competitive level, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to score goals at nearly 40 years old. The meticulous Portuguese star is the focal point of an Al-Nassr side that showered him with riches to make him the main attraction of the Saudi league in January 2023. However, the staggering contract he signed back then, worth €200 million per season, including base salary and image rights, will come to an end on June 30.

The Portuguese forward aims for the milestone of 1,000 goals, but to achieve this, he will have to extend his ties with the Saudi club for at least until 2026, something that is considered a given in Saudi Arabia. According to the Saudi outlet El Khabar, Cristiano Ronaldo will sign a spectacular new contract with Al-Nassr for one more season.

To date, the ‘Bicho’ was earning €200 million a year, which is €16.67 million per month, €3.88 million per week, and €555,555 per day. These mind-boggling figures are almost beyond comprehension. His current contract (a total of €536 million over two and a half years) is the third-best in sports history, only behind Shohei Ohtani’s €700 million over ten years and Messi’s €674 million in his final four years at Barcelona. However, when we look solely at annual earnings, he occupied the top position on the podium

Though older than when he signed the aforementioned contract, according to the same source, Cristiano will extend his stay with the Saudi side for nearly the same astronomical amount of money: around €183 million for a single season, or in other terms, €15.25 million per month, €3.8 million per week, or €550,000 per day.

The former Real Madrid star, among other top teams, who was tempted by offers from other clubs in the Saudi Pro League, including Jorge Jesus’ Al Hilal, agreed to remain with Al-Nassr under Stefano Pioli, assuming the club will make significant signings next summer to directly compete with Al Hilal and Al Ittihad in the major tournaments.
