A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service from Kuje to provide the detained executive of Binance Holdings Limited, Tigran Gambaryan, with a wheelchair. The Nigeria Police Force has declared a British national, Andrew Wynne, and a Nigerian, Lucky Obiyan, wanted for allegedly plotting to overthrow the democratically elected government of President Bola Tinubu. Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded 10 #EndBadGovernance protesters in prison. The judge, on Monday, remanded nine male protesters in the Kuje prison while a female protester was remanded in Suleja. The court also fixed September 11 for trial and ruling on bail application by the protesters. This followed the arraignment of the protesters for alleged treason, mutiny and intent to destabilise Nigeria. Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited finally admitted the company’s “significant debt to petrol suppliers”, saying it poses a threat to the sustainability of fuel supply. There have been reports that a $6 billion debt the NNPCL owes petrol suppliers has worsened petrol scarcity in Nigeria, a perennial feature since the beginning of 2024. Toronto Police has arrested the Canadian-Nigerian woman who recently threatened to poison Yoruba and Benin citizens living in Canada. Toronto Police Service, in a Sunday statement on its website titled, “Suspected Hate-Motivated Threatening Investigation, Woman Arrested,” revealed this. Amaka Sonnberger is scheduled to appear in court on September 2, 2024, after she was apprehended on Sunday following an investigation into online content she reportedly posted on August 25.
