Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the house of representatives have asked Umar Damagum, acting chairman of the party, to tender his resignation. Festus Keyamo, minister of aviation and aerospace development, says Emirates Airlines is prepared to resume flight operations to Nigeria. Keyamo spoke during an interview on Arise television on Monday. Emirates, had in November 2022, suspended flight operations to Nigeria over its inability to repatriate its revenue from the country. The federal government had, in September 2023, said the airline would resume services in Nigeria — signalling a resolution of the dispute. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said it has sold a total of $10, 000 to 1, 588 Bureau De Change (BDC) operators to meet retail market demand for eligible invisible transactions. A statement by the apex bank on Monday said the $10, 000 sale was at the rate of N110/$1, adding that the BDCs are to sell to eligible customers at a spread of not more than 1.5 per cent above the purchase price. The Ikeja High Court in Lagos State has ordered the remand of a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).  He is to be remanded till the next adjourned date, Thursday, April 11 when the court will give its ruling on bail. A former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor Godwin Emefiele has pleaded not guilty to charges against him. He was arraigned at the Ikeja High Court over alleged abuse of office and allocation of billions of dollars. The trial judge, Justice Rahman Oshodi entered the courtroom at 9 am to begin proceedings.
