The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, on Tuesday in Port Harcourt commended Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL) for its project-based human capital development programmes, which are in alignment with the objectives of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content (NOGICD) Act, 2010.

Speaking at the Nigerian Content-Human Capital Development (NC-HCD) Close-out Ceremony for 23 trainees who recently completed an intensive 12-month capacity building programme, Engr. Ogbe said Heritage Oil is “championing the full implementation of the NOGICD Act in all operations” and that the success recorded thus far marks “a significant milestone in the Board’s implementation of the first pillar of its Nigerian Content 10-Year Strategic Road Map,” which is Technical Capability Development.

He noted that the training programme which is coming on the heels of the HEOSL’s Gas-lifting of Compressors Project/Contract, represents a crucial investment towards empowerment of the next generation of professionals, and was designed to build a pool of skilled and globally competitive labour force to support the development and growth of the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

The NCDMB boss, who was represented by the Manager, Human Capital Development (HCD), Mrs. Tarilate Teide-Bribena reiterated the commitment of the Board to targeted capacity building interventions that would improve indigenous capacity and capabilities for standardization and competitiveness.

HEOSL, represented by its Nigerian Content Development (NCD) Manager, Mr. Felix Usiwo, thanked the NCDMB for the support the company has enjoyed and for ensuring that the programme was a success. He said the outgoing trainees had the opportunity to add to their body of knowledge, sharpen their competencies, and add value to their personal and professional growth.

He advised the trainees to register for possible recruitment on the NOGICJQS platform as the certification they have received would enable them to work anywhere in the world.

In his presentation, the representative of Sherman Gray Limited, the training firm, Engr. Abiodun Olunde expressed appreciation to the NCDMB for the support received, for oversight and occasional interventions in the course of the programme
