President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria on their victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, securing their record 10th continental title.

The President, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, said, “The Super Falcons’ spectacular performance tonight in Rabat, coming from behind to beat a spirited Moroccan side playing in front of a passionate home crowd, exemplifies the determination that defines the Nigerian spirit.”

“With hard work, dedication, and tenacity, you have achieved the mission the nation dreamed of and prayed for. The nation looks forward to welcoming our champions. Congratulations! Nigeria celebrates you,” the president added.

In a personally written message to the Super Falcons, President Tinubu charged the Super Falcons of Nigeria to secure their tenth win in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final and return the trophy home.

The President also disclosed the dispatch of a presidential delegation to the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final to express the full support of the government and Nigerians and to cheer the Super Falcons on to victory.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons staged a dramatic and resilient comeback to clinch a thrilling 3–2 victory over Morocco in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations clash on Saturday.

Morocco struck early, with Ghizlane Chebbak opening the scoring in the 12th minute, followed by Sanaâ Mssoudy doubling the lead in the 24th.

Yet, Nigeria rallied strongly in the second half, mounting a powerful response that turned the tide and secured their win
