President Biden backtracks and corrects himself after calling for Trump to be locked up 2 weeks before election

President Joe Biden has called for Donald Trump to be locked up 14 days before the presidential election.

Biden told New Hampshire Democrats on Tuesday night, October 22, that “we gotta lock him up,” referring to former President Donald Trump, before quickly adding, “Politically lock him up.”

He was describing some of Trump’s plans for a second term, when he said, “I know this sounds bizarre – it sounds like if I said this five years ago, you’d lock me up. We gotta lock him up.”

During Trump’s 2016 campaign, crowds would chant “Lock her up,” when his then challenger Hillary Clinton was mentioned.

Trump has previously denied leading the chants, telling Fox News in June,“Hillary Clinton, I didn’t say ‘lock her up,’ but the people would all say ‘lock her up, lock her up.'”

According to the New York Post, a source close to Biden told the outlet that his follow-up comment meant that he hadn’t intended to call for Trump to be incarcerated.

The Trump campaign responded to Biden’s comments with a statement, calling on Harris to condemn Biden’s remarks.

Joe Biden just admitted the truth: he and Kamala’s plan all along has been to politically persecute their opponent President Trump because they can’t beat him fair and square. The Harris-Biden Admin is the real threat to democracy. We call on Kamala Harris to condemn Joe Biden’s disgraceful remark,” Trump Campaign Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said
