The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has said there will be no agreement with Iran unless the country accepts what he described as “unconditional surrender.”
Trump made the declaration in a post on his verified account on X (formerly Twitter), outlining his administration’s position amid escalating tensions involving Iran and its Western adversaries.
“There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” Trump wrote.
The U.S. president said that once such a surrender takes place and a “great and acceptable” leadership is chosen in Iran, the United States and its allies would help rebuild the country’s economy.
“After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before,” Trump said.
Trump added that Iran could still have a prosperous future if it abandons its current course.
“Iran will have a great future. ‘MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!).’ Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he wrote.
The statement signals a hardline stance from Washington toward Tehran, suggesting the US administration is unwilling to pursue negotiations unless Iran first capitulates to sweeping political and strategic changes.
