Christopher Musa, minister of defence, has led a delegation to Borno to commiserate with the state government over the suicide bomb attacks which killed at least 23 persons earlier this month.
The delegation comprised Bello Matawalle, minister of state for defence, alongside the chiefs of operations of the defence headquarters (DHQ) and other service branch of the armed forces.
The team visited to Abubakar el-Kanemi, the Shehu of Borno, and Babagana Zulum, the state governor, who was represented by Umar Kadafur, his deputy.
Musa conveyed the heartfelt condolences of President Bola Tinubu and noted the assurances of the federal government in addressing the security challenges in the state.
The minister also assured the government of the injection of additional military assets to bolster the posture of Operation Hadin Kai in the north-east in order to ensure the timely eradication of insecurity and the attainment of operational objectives.
Zulum acknowledged the sacrifices of the armed forces who lost their lives in service to the nation. He also pledged the continued support of the state.
The minister and his delegation also visited the military cemetery at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, and laid wreaths in honour of fallen heroes.
