Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, announced Ghana’s interest in Ukrainian drones and its readiness to finance their production. Ukraine, in turn, is prepared to assist Ghana in securing its borders.
The head of state shared this information on the social network X following a phone conversation with Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama.
Zelenskyy noted that Ghana seeks to develop bilateral relations with Ukraine.
“We discussed areas where we can already deepen our partnership, primarily in the agro-industrial sector and the establishment of a food logistics center in Ghana. Ghana is also interested in our technologies, the production of various types of drones, and the experience Ukraine has gained during this war. Ghana is ready to finance our production, and we are ready to help our partners secure their borders,” the president said.
The president also added that the parties agreed to hold a meeting at the ministerial level, and soon a delegation from Ukraine will visit Ghana.
Ghana, located in West Africa, was formerly known as the Gold Coast. The country possesses significant gold reserves, and the extraction process covers all stages – from mining to processing and export.
Recently, the Ghanaian government took measures to centralize gold trade and combat smuggling.
