President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has launched the Renewed Hope Social Impact program for Women, Children & Families, a Programme initiated by the Minister of Women’s Affairs Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.
Launching the programme during a presidential visit to Lafiya, Nasarawa State, the President paid glowing tributes to the resilience of Nigerian Women, commended the Minister for all her mobilisation, encouragement and empowerment of women; reaffirming his commitment to a gender empowered Nigeria.
” I salute you women, the backbone of our growth and economy, the strength of our family. I salute you too women for all that you have been doing; you’re exceptional species that can do a number of things at the same time.

What women can do, men are unable, we don’t have that capacity to watch television, hold conversations, do breastfeeding and knit sweaters. Women will combine all of those and not make any mistakes. Women you are great.”
I wish to thank you very much for everything. I salute the Minister for the efforts she has been putting forward on behalf of you women . Thank you very Much, God bless you all, God bless your children…,” he stated.
The President hereafter made a symbolic presentation of 1 million Naira Cheque to beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Women Agro-Value Expansion Programme.

He stated: “ I take great pride in initiating this program in Nasarawa, which is a purposeful choice. Recently recognised as a CEDAW City at the United Nations for its exceptional commitment to the rights of women and girls, this honour truly reflects the spirit of its people, government, and values.
I also commend Governor Abdullahi Sule for aligning the priorities of Nasarawa state with our national vision, and HM Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, a proud daughter of Nasarawa, whose relentless dedication continues to amplify the voices of the voiceless and inspire hope in millions through the Ministry of Women Affairs,” he said.

Speaking to Voice of Nigeria, one of the beneficiaries, Hauwa Gidado, a Chicken Poultry Agroprenurs said ” at least after collecting this 1 million, I have made my calculation and I have seen that instead of rearing between 40, 50 or 70 chickens, I’ll be able to, by his grace, lay 4,000 pieces of chicken and that means a lot.It means a great improvement in the economic empowerment aspect of my life.”
She appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, saying
“Even if the Nigerians thought that hope is lost, hope is not lost with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, because he is doing his things visionary, small by small, but there is great achievement.
Maybe he may not be trumpheted on what he does, but we are seeing it and we are calculating it,” he said.
She also commended the Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim for “carrying out her services diligently with vision, with lots of calculation and with lots of empowerment to women,”
Programme Scope
The Renewed Hope Social Impact program for Women, Children & Families has four revolutionary component programs that will change the lives of women across Nigeria.
First component is the Women Agro-Value Expansion (WAVE) Programme, targeting 5 million women across all 36 States and the FCT, who constitute 70% of smallholder farmers to become agro-billionaires.
WAVE aims at transforming Nigeria’s agricultural sector by empowering women across the production to processing, packaging, branding, and marketing chain with farm input and tools support, capacity building, market access, and sustainable economic empowerment.
Critical gaps
This program will also address the critical gaps in women’s participation in agribusiness, strengthening food security, reducing post-harvest losses, and creating export ready value added products that drive inclusive economic growth.
Light up their homes
Second Component is the Zero Energy Poverty Programme, ‘Power Her up 774’ empowering women with 1,000 solar home systems in every local government area, to unlock economic opportunities for our women, light up their homes, businesses,and also increase their economic viability with money earned by recharging homes.
Third component, is the Clean Cooking Programme, a lifesaving initiative that seeks to reduce the alarming number of women who lose their lives to smoke emissions and inhalation from firewood cooking while putting food on the table in Nigeria.
Over 98,000 women die from firewood smoke and fumes inhalation poisoning, this component aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s vision to ensure that women are not only beneficiaries but also critical sector players in the energy transition.
Safer energies
The initiative targets to transition 3 million households from charcoal and firewood use, to cleaner and safer energies including LPG , Solar Cookstoves and other solutions.
Under the Clean Cooking Initiative,100 women were empowered with 100 gas cylinders.
The fourth component, the Women’s Economic Empowerment Programme, empowered 100 small-scale business owners with the seed sum of 50,000 Naira, to complement the tools and resources needed to enable them thrive and become icons of success in their communities.

The Renewed Hope Social Impact Program for Women, Children, and Families, is a nationwide delivery action that will directly impact 10 million lives through clean energy, agriculture, and safer homes, with targeted solutions, local delivery, federal support, and tangible impacts.
