A high-powered delegation from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters, led by Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Edward Gabkwet, has arrived in Zamfara State to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the recent airstrike tragedy.

During a courtesy visit to Governor Dauda Lawal at the Government House, AVM Gabkwet expressed the NAF’s condolences and reiterated its commitment to combating banditry and restoring peace to the region. He assured the governor that a thorough investigation into the incident would be conducted.

Governor Lawal commended the NAF for its efforts in addressing the state’s security challenges and reaffirmed his administration’s support for security agencies to ensure lasting peace. He also emphasized the need for greater collaboration among all stakeholders in the fight against insecurity.

The delegation visited the Headquarters of the Theater Command, Joint Taskforce Operation Hadarin Daji, and later proceeded to Tungar Kara community for an on-the-spot assessment of the incident, which reportedly resulted in casualties among local vigilantes and residents.
