President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the Nigeria Immigration Service’s Technology Innovation Complex at its headquarters in Abuja.
The Data Complex comprises the Command and Control Centre (regular migration), NIS Data Centre, ECOWAS Biometric Card Production Centre, Interior Data Centre and a 0.5KW solar power plant.
The President, while commissioning the facility, said he promised to run a government built on ICT and innovations and he has lived up to his promise.
In her opening address, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service Kemi Nandap said the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex will ascertain the risk level of persons entering the country, detect irregular migration patterns and monitor unmanned borders in hard-to-reach areas nationwide.
She said the facilities are “setting the benchmark to use technology to secure our borders and ensure the security of the nation.”
Tinubu arrived at about 12:08 pm and was received by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap.
Present are the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and heads of agencies, among others.
