President Tinubu Unveils National Lottery Trust Fund’s 4-Year Strategic Plan

In a bid to reposition the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) for greater efficiency and effectiveness, President Bola Tinubu, has unveiled a comprehensive 4-year strategic plan aimed at transforming the National Lottery Trust Fund operations and maximizing impact on GOOD CAUSES across Nigeria.

The event, held at the Aso Villa Banquet Hall in Abuja, marked a significant milestone in NLTF’s history.

Speaking on behalf of President, Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, expressed confidence in the strategic document being unveiled, emphasizing its potential to enhance the federal government’s outreach to marginalized communities

“This move is part of President Tinubu’s efforts to drive economic transformation, ensure security, enhance food production, and improve social services.

“Through the National Lottery Trust Fund, the president believes that help will reach many Nigerians, providing support to vulnerable individuals and communities,” he said.

He commended the Executive Secretary for his leadership and looking forward to seeing more prosperous results.

In his keynote address, the Executive Secretary, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, commended the president for his effort to introduce Revenue Assurance Platform (RAP) which he described will help the lottery industry to achieve its mandate.

“I want to appreciate our father, president Bola Tinubu for his role in reshaping the lottery industry in Nigeria through the introduction of Revenue Assurance Platform.

“I am honored to present to Mr. President and the public the four-year strategic plan of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), developed within the first two months of my tenure as Executive Secretary/CEO.

“I express my profound appreciation to Mr. President for appointing me to serve our great nation, Nigeria. As a proud Nigerian, I solemnly pledge to discharge my duties in line with Mr. President’s expectations and those of our fellow citizens. Today marks a significant step towards enhancing our mandate and deepening our impact on Nigerian communities, as envisioned by Mr. President.

“Since 2005, NLTF has successfully implemented over 306 projects nationwide, touching lives and transforming communities. NLTF is committed to delivering GOOD CAUSES and worthwhile interventions across various sectors and in communities in need. Our strategic plan aligns with the current administration’s vision for sustainable development and social welfare,” Adeyanju said.

Senator Victor Umeh, speaking on behalf of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, praised the Executive Secretary for outstanding achievements within a few months of appointment. Umeh expressed confidence in the strategic plan, emphasizing its potential to achieve great heights.

Hon Canice Moore, House of Representatives Chairman Inter-governmental Affairs and Special Duties represented the Speaker House of Reps. He commended the new leadership of the agency and pledge support of the house to the agency.

The Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo and the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Dr. Maryam Keshinro echoed this sentiment, highlighting the strategic plan’s focus on providing GOOD CAUSES across Nigeria. Jisalo assured that Nigerians will benefit from the strategic document, which prioritizes meaningful interventions.

In attendance were Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande and the Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate.

Executive Secretaries of National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Chief Ayuba Gufwan; National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education, Dr. Idris Muhammad Sani, Police Trust Fund: Mohammed Sheidu, National Lottery Trust Fund (former), Bello Maigari and National Assembly Resource Center, Hon Henry Nwawub were also in attendance.

Also, Director-Generals of Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Mustapha Abdullahi; National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), Dr. Patricia Chukwu; Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA), Umar Ibrahim Mohammed and National Lottery Regulatory Agency, Lanre Gbajabiamila as well as Director General SMEDAN, Charles Odii graced the event.

Managing Directors/CEO of Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority, Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as well as Senators Ibrahim Hadejia (Deputy Chief of Staff to the President), Kawu Sumaila (Representing Kano South), Senator Amos Yohama, Senator Victor Umeh, who represented the Senate President as well as House of Representatives Chairmen on Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon Nwachukwu Canice Moore Chukwugozie and Committee on Public Account, Hon. Bamidele Salam were in attendance.

Members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Sheidu Dalatu, Shehu Fatoki and Engr Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari graced the occasion alongside Special Advisers to the President on Human Capital, Olanipekun Ogunshilera and Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga as well as Senior Special Assistant to the President, Tunde Rahman.

Also in attendance were Federal Commissioners of Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Ozo Obumreme Obodougo; Federal Character Commission, Ginika Tor and National Population Commission, Yori Afolabi as well as the Chairman, Federal College of Education Birnin-Yauri, Hon Ismail Gadaka.
