Fuel Price Hike: Atiku Calls Tinubu ‘T-Pain’, Says President Undisturbed by Nigerians’ Suffering

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has again lambasted President Bola Tinubu and his administration, saying the president is not bothered about the growing hardship and he is daily drowning the material well-being of Nigerians. 

Atiku, a former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, knocked Tinubu over what he described as an haphazard and disingenuous approach of his administration to fuel subsidy management.

According to Atiku, the haphazard and disingenuous approach to fuel subsidy management by Tinubu’s administration has been the reason Nigerians are in the current economic crisis in the country. 

The former Vice President who said this in a post on X on Thursday while reacting to the latest fuel pump price hike by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) said that based on the current situation in Nigeria, inflation could only continue to soar higher while Nigerians will continue to drown in hunger and poverty.

Atiku said, “The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country. 

“As things stand, there will be no let up in the escalating inflation rate, which is drowning the material well-being of Nigerians. 

“It is even more worrying that T-pain is undisturbed by the hardship in the country.”

The NNPCL on Wednesday hiked the fuel pump price as it directed its filling stations across the country to sell fuel at N1030 per litre. 

The increment came barely one month after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited hiked the fuel price to over N850 per litre. 

The latest fuel pump price hike has sparked nationwide outrage as Nigerians lament the government’s insensitivity to the horrible economic plight of the citizens
