Simbi Wabote performed the grand opening of UNITERM Nigeria Limited Operational Base in Port Harcourt

The Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote (FNSE, FIPS) accompanied by the GM, Capacity Building, Dr Ama Ikuru, GM, CC/ZC, NCDMB, Engr. Dr. Ginah O. Ginah (FNSE), Engr. Abayomi Bamidele and other staff of the Board earlier today were at the grand opening of UNITERM Nigeria Limited Operational Base in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

UNITERM Nigeria Limited which is into Jack-Up drilling rig services, land drilling rig services, wellhead services & accessories and more, was incorporated in 2004 and has grown rapidly with professional staff of about 200 delivering quality and cost effective services in the Oil & Gas sector of the Nigerian economy.

The MD/CEO, UNITERM Austin Omobhude in his welcome address after reeling out services rendered by UNITERM, thanked the Board for the close working relationship noting that NCDMB led by Engr. Simbi Wabote has been of immense support.

The Chairman, UNITERM, Engr. Obioha Fubara Okoroafor (FNSE) in his remarks also appreciated the Board and hopes for a continued smooth and mutually beneficial working relationship.

In his Keynote Address, the Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote (FNSE, FIPS) used the opportunity to warmly welcome representatives of operators & service providers in the oil and gas industry present.

Engr. Simbi noted that we are always delighted to extend invitation for stakeholders to join us to see things for themselves as we visit facilities to assess, verify, and convince ourselves of established in-country capacities and capabilities.

He added that It is gratifying to be back here in Port Harcourt for the fourth time this year to commission another facility in demonstration of the fact that Nigerian businesses are taking up the challenge to grow their outfits and contribute to the development of Nigerian oil and gas industry.

Furthermore. He applauded the Rivers State Government for creating the enabling environment for businesses to initiate and complete their growth plans within the city rather than relocate to other states.

“We currently have about 9,000 service companies registered in our NOGIC-JQS offering diverse services including Engineering, Fabrication, Procurement, Drilling services, Logistics, Exploration and Seismic services, Installation & Commissioning, Inspection & Testing, Project Management, Finance and Insurance, and many others as listed in the Schedule of NOGICD Act (2010).” Engr. Simbi highlighted.

“I am optimistic that the addition of the new Operational Base and office complex will further enhance the operational efficiency to provide superior service delivery to all its customers.” @wabote_simbi

Furthermore, the Board is proud to identify with Uniterm for its offering of world class services to the oil & gas sector & other sectors of the economy without compromising standards and safety. This tallies with our 10-year strategic roadmap aimed at increasing the level of Nigerian Content in the oil and gas sector to 70% by 2027. Engr. Simbi further highlighted.

The ES in closing appreciated the IOCs for their support in the successful implementation of Nigerian Content and encourage them and other Oil and Gas service providers to remain resolute as we jointly deliver the various aspects of the Nigerian Content journey that we can all be proud of.
