Samsung Heavy Industries Seeks To Expand Collaboration With NCDMB On NLNG Train 7 Project

Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria (SHIN) Limited is seeking to expand its collaboration with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) on the NLNG Train 7 project.

Managing Director of Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria, Jongseok Kim, made this known on Tuesday when he led a delegation to the Board’s Headquarters Building at Ox-Bow Lake in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The visit was aimed at exploring means of expanding collaboration with the Board on the NLNG Train7 project and to seek ways to increase galvanizing capacities as Samsung is always in search of new opportunities.

According to Kim, SHIN is also exploring means of “galvanising capacities as Samsung is always in search of new opportunities.”

Delivering his remarks, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote appreciated Samsung for visiting the Board.

He also congratulated SHIN for amicably resolving their disputes with LADOL, noting that “NCDMB did everything it could under my leadership to resolve the issue.”

It is worthwhile to note that the NLNG Train 7 project is a joint venture consortium that seeks to boost Nigeria’s Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) output.

Nigeria’s LNG production has been declining in recent years.

The $10 billion project is expected to add around 8 million tonnes a year of liquefied natural gas to NLNG, taking the total to around 30 million tonnes per year.
