Fayemi, Akpabio, Amosun, Dimeji step down for Tinubu

MANY aspirants are stepping down for  Ahmed Tinubu at the ongoing All Progressives People Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Abuja.

At the ongoing national party’s convention to elect the flagbearer, Senators Godswill Akpabio and Ibikunke Amodun have stepped down for the former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s flagbearer.

Both aspirants had at the convention told their supporters to work together for Tinubu’s emergence.

Also, the Governor of Ekiti state, John Kayode Fayemi, had stepped down for the former Tinubu, whom he described as his ‘elder brother’.

Speaking respectively at the ongoing parties’ convention, Amosun, Akpabio, and Fayemi urged their members to support Tinubu’s ambition.

Amosun said, despite having the requisite knowledge in the public and private sector, he would sacrifice his ambition for Tinubu.

Senator Akpabio on his own part said he is sacrificing his ambition for Tinubu.

He said the party must be able to create jobs and wealth for the teeming Nigerian population.

Fayemi on his part said Nigeria’s unity and cohesion is key to enable it reach its destiny.

“We have the duty to build on the labours of our heroes past.

“We must focus in empowering our women, providing jobs for youths and retooling our military to perform better. This is the task befor us today as a party, and we must do it.

“Our brothers from the Northern Governors forum had done their best to support Southern President. I’m sacrificing my ambition to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Badaru of Jigawa State also speaking much later stepped down for the APC chieftain.

Senator Ajayi Borofice in a brief remark also stepped down for Ahmed Tinubu.
